Dr. Faisal completed his residency training at Yale and New York University. He also completed a fellowship in Mood and Anxiety disorders at Albert Einstein/ Montefiore Hospital and another fellowship in Psychopharmacology Research at Manhattan Psychiatric Center/ NYU. Dr. Faisal obtained extensive clinical and research training in the field of substance abuse at University of Pennsylvania and National Institute on Alcohol abuse and Alcoholism.

Prior to Talkiatry, Dr. Faisal worked in a variety of practice settings including both inpatient and outpatient settings. Preciously, Dr. Faisal ran a specialized inpatient unit as unit chief at St. Vincent’s Hospital Centers of Brooklyn and Queens. Most recently he was a consultant psychiatrist.

Dr. Faisal’s approach is both scientific and humanistic. He primarily focuses on psychopharmacologic treatment of adults. His goal is to provide empathic, non-judgmental and evidence-based treatment in a setting of respect and trust.
