Ilisse Perlmutter, MD

Dr. Sharon Kahler is Board Certified in Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and treats patients of all ages. She has over a decade of experience in both community mental health centers and private practice, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College, completed Adult Psychiatry Residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, and completed Child and Adolescent Fellowship training at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, and childhood psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Kahler is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care. She fosters a therapeutic, nonjudgmental environment where patients can openly share their concerns and values. Viewing treatment as a partnership, she encourages patients to play an active role in their care and takes a whole-person approach, considering lifestyle, environmental, and social factors that contribute to healing.

Dr. Kahler begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand each patient’s history, background, and treatment priorities. She develops individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches, supporting patients in navigating life’s challenges and finding a path to mental wellness.

Dr. Rayal Gorrepati is double board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry. He has been practicing for over 12 years. Dr. Gorrepati's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, he offers this in conjunction with supportive psychotherapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, occasionally Dr. Gorrepati may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best possible outcome. He received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. His general psychiatry residency was completed at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey. He then completed a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Hawaii. After completing training, he returned to his hometown of Chicago and began working at a Federally Qualified Health Center providing care to an underserved low-income population for nearly 12 years. While at the clinic, he treated a wide range of diagnoses, the most common ones being depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. His primary clinical focus is treating adults with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Dr. Michael Lukowski is an adult psychiatrist who holds board certification with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been practicing medicine for over 4 years. Dr. Lukowski focuses on medication management combined with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. He practices whole-person medicine, caring for the wellness of your mind, body, and spirit and helping you enjoy your relationships with those around you. Dr. Lukowski received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV, before moving to southern California to complete his residency at Loma Linda University. After completing training, Dr. Lukowski began working with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Riverside, CA, where he treated a variety of psychiatric disorders in an outpatient setting. In March of 2020, as the pandemic changed life and medicine forever, Dr. Lukowski adopted a strictly telepsychiatry role at his clinic. He has also held a staff psychiatrist position as an adult inpatient psychiatrist in Tennessee. Dr. Lukowski treats a wide variety of psychiatric disorders within the adult demographic.

Dr. Sabrina Lefcochilos-Fogelquist earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Morningside/West in New York City. She has experience in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency psychiatry, treating a broad spectrum of mental health conditions across diverse populations.

Dr. Lefcochilos-Fogelquist values compassionate, holistic care and strives to build long-term, collaborative relationships with her patients. She is particularly drawn to the outpatient setting, where she can engage with the evolving narratives of her patients’ lives. She creates a warm, supportive environment where individuals feel safe, respected, and heard.

Her process begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand each patient’s history, concerns, and goals. Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication management and psychotherapy. She integrates supportive, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based techniques to meet patients' evolving needs.

Dr. Steve Paschos is a board-certified Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. He attended Loyola University Chicago on the Lake Shore campus, completing a bachelor's degree in science and a Degree in Classical Studies. He then attended Medical School at Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed a 5-year combined Internal Medicine & Psychiatry residency in 2011. Dr. Paschos subsequently completed a 1-year fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He has spent the last 12 years fulfilling his passion for integrating Internal Medicine & Psychiatry, working with a diverse range of patients suffering from severe mental illnesses. ‍Dr. Paschos' years of experience have included working at Cook County Health Services � Cermak Health Services at Cook County Department of Corrections with an extremely diverse patient population with varying psychiatric illnesses. He has also worked as an inpatient psychiatric hospitalist and as the director of the Intensive Care Unit at Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Illinois. Dr. Paschos also acted as a medical director of an IOP and established an outpatient psychiatric practice in conjunction with the Intensive Outpatient Program. He has had the opportunity and privilege of treating individuals who suffer from various diagnoses, especially challenging patients who have suffered from integrated or Med-Psych concerns involving primary mood disorders, Bipolar Affective disorders, prior trauma, severe medical problems/diagnoses along with concurrent personality pathology. ‍Dr. Paschos utilizes supportive psychotherapy, brief cognitive behavioral therapy, and at times psychodynamic therapy to address his patients' current complaints and to identify the locus of their symptoms. He believes in utilizing an all-encompassed approach using mindfulness and various psychotherapies along with comprehensive medication management. Dr. Syed Abbasi is an adult psychiatrist who completed his undergraduate education at Rutgers University and earned his medical degree at Ross University. He completed his psychiatry residency training at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center with training at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, additionally as Chief Resident at Columbia University's Outpatient Adult Psychiatry Eye-6 clinic. Dr. Abbasi is passionate about and experienced in providing holistic, thoughtful, evidence-based care for patients with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma-related disorders, relationship issues and struggles with self-image. He believes empathy and understanding are the most fundamental components of the doctor-patient relationship. He provides psychiatric medication management and integrates supportive psychotherapy, elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), stress management techniques and lifestyle interventions to meet patients where they are and collaborate toward improvement and optimization of their wellness. Occasionally, when appropriate, he may recommend adding a therapist to your care team for further benefit.
