Maria Ng has a BA in Psychology and a MS in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo and is a  Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked with a variety of clients from different backgrounds and presenting problems. Maria has been practicing for 3 years and has worked in an extensive number of settings including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization programs, and psychiatric emergency. She has worked extensively with clients who are struggling with Depression, Anxiety, coping with life changes, Bipolar disorder, and clients who are struggling with inter-generational issues. She has a sub specialization of working with clients who are 1st/2nd generation Americans or immigrants and struggling with issues related to acclimatizing to America and intergenerational trauma. She is also a sex positive therapist and a queer affirming therapist who provides clients a safe space to explore their gender and sexual concerns.

Maria has been trained in several different therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. She generally adopts a Gestalt and Existential approach towards all clients and incorporates different skills needed for each individual. She enjoys working with individuals who are figuring out their purpose in life and helping others develop their own identity. She enjoys working with individuals all of ages and sees clients aged 13 and up.
