Melinda Hill-Price, MD, JD
As a psychiatrist, Dr. Hill-Price aims to empower others to live their best life by focusing on medication management grounded in diagnostic accuracy and science. However, she also strives to embody the compassion of the “Art of Medicine” utilizing an eclectic therapeutic approach by combining her strong foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral and supportive therapy, communication skills and common sense. Dr. Hill-Price is board-certified with 25 years of experience working with all adult ages, lifestyles, cultures and ethnicities. Her treatment area interests include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is particularly interested in relationships and the challenges presented in life transitions such as starting one's career, balancing work and childcare, caring for elderly parents and retirement.
Dr. Hill-Price completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Law Degree and Medical Degree with Honors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her first year of psychiatry residency at the University of North Carolina and then transitioned to the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, Dr. Hill-Price was supervised in psychotherapy by psychiatrist-psychoanalysts from the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Center and in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) by Dr. Judith Beck and her father Dr. Aaron Beck (founder of CBT and an analysand of Dr. Sigmund Freud). In addition, she leverages significant experience gained from practicing nursing and law.
Dr. Hill-Price and her husband have a blended family of seven successfully independent children and nine grandchildren (so far). They enjoy home remodeling, RV camping and seeing America. She also loves to bake - particularly cookies – and to read American history and old psychoanalytical books.
