Nilesh Tannu, MD
Nilesh Tannu, MD, is board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been practicing General Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry since past 7 years at Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Tannu uses the bio-psycho-social model to provide evidence-based psychopharmacologic treatment. He also integrates supportive and cognitive-behavioral therapy modalities into his practice. Dr. Tannu is strongly committed to mental health care, education and helping patients achieve optimal functioning to accomplish their life goals.
Dr. Tannu completed his medical school from B.J. Medical College in Pune. He graduated adult psychiatry residency at University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he also fulfilled the role of chief resident. During the residency training he won awards from Society of Biological Psychiatry, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education. After graduating residency, he stayed at the Texas medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry where he worked at UT Physicians Clinics and Memorial Hermann Hospital. He is also on Editorial Board for BMC Genomics- Journal.
Dr. Tannu practices adult general psychiatry and treats wide variety of psychiatric disorders including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, insomnia, eating disorders along with complex medical co-morbidities.
