Payton Reid is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who received her bachelors and masters degree in West Palm Beach, Florida and has also lived in New York City.
Payton has worked in private practice, community mental health, psychiatric facilities, and substance use treatment, with a focus in crisis intervention for the past 8 years. She specializes in treating trauma/PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and perinatal mental health issues. Payton’s work in crisis intervention has allowed for her to treat a multitude of psychiatric disorders and feel comfortable working with all populations within the field.
Payton’s counseling approach is client-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative. She strives to create a compassionate and unbiased space that allows room to assist the client in reaching specific goals. She focuses on identifying healthy coping skills and positive methods of problem solving. Her theoretical orientation is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, however, she additionally integrates Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy interventions with her clients. Payton is a self-proclaimed lifelong learner and is always excited to research new therapeutic modalities. She utilizes evidence-based practices in a creative and safe environment to allow the client to heal and grow.
